Biscuits and Gravy

Biscuits

2 cups amaranth flour
1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum free)
1/2 butter (room temp)
1 cup milk (if using almond milk half milk/half water)

Preheat oven to 400*. Place all ingredients in a bowl and blend. Take a tablespoon and drop batter on no greased pan (don’t shape, they are suppose to look messy). Cook for 20 mins or till golden. Makes 6 lg or 12 sm biscuits.

Gravy

4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons amaranth flour
1 teaspoons pepper
1 1/2 of any milk (again if using almond milk half milk half water)

Melt butter over med heat in a saucepan then add flour. Stir over heat till brown. Slowly whisk in milk. Whisk constantly till thick then whisk in pepper. Enjoy!

optional: add no nitrates turkey uncured sausage or chopped no nitrates uncured bacon. I use “Applegate” brand. Very yummy!
